Lithuanian Seaside Cycle Route

Riding a bike through the Curonian Spit is one of the best ways to actively spend one‘s free time and visit the most interesting and picturesque places of the Spit. The length of the bicycle track is 52 kilometers, it connects all the settlements of the Curonian Spit - Smiltynė, Juodkrantė, Pervalka, Preila and Nida. This trail is a southern part of the seaside bicycle track, as well as the part of EuroVelo European cycle route network EV 10 route – „Hansa ring“ and the part of European bicycle track R1.
Bicycle trail goes through woody Spit places. It is not difficult, because there are no big uphills and downhills, short-term stopping places are equiped along a path, so a beginner-cyclist finds it easy to go too. The bicycle trail begins in Smiltynė, tourists can choose to begin a trip from the Old Ferry (Danės Str. 1, Klaipėda) or the New Ferry (Nemuno Str. 8, Klaipėda). Bike path section length from Klaipėda to Juodkrantė is 21 km, in this part the route passes close to the sea. Section from Juodkrantė to Pervalka makes a length of 16,5 km. This cycling part of the route goes along the sea, then along the main road, and after passing the Gray Dunes, turns into the forest. From Pervalka till Nida the bike trail goes by the old trail along the lagoon, the distance from Pervalka to Preila is 5.5 km, from Preila to Nida - 9 km. The bicycle trail ends in Nida, by the Parnidis Dune.
Riding a bicycle path through Neringa, you will visit such scenic spots as the Avino (in English Ram) Mountain, the Gray Dunes in Nagliai Nature Reserve, Vecekrugas Dune, Bulvikis Cape. The track is full of resting places. You can enrich your experience by visiting the bird watching towers, which are next to the bicycle path between Pervalka and Nida.
